TiE – IKGPTU Industry Academia Collaboration

IKG PTU inked “Industry Academia Collaboration Agreement” with The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE Chandigarh) to promote innovation & entrepreneurial cultural in University campuses & affiliated colleges. Agreement was signed by Dr. Ajay K Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, IKG PTU & Mr. Munish Jauhar, President TiE. Under this collaboration, TiE members will visit University campuses & affiliated colleges for Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps. TiE will also organize Internship Drives & Placement Drives twice in a year exclusively for IKGPTU students.

Two Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps (EACs) were organized at university main campus. Mr. H.S Cheema, M.D, Cheema Boilers Pvt. Ltd. and Ms. Prerna Kalra, MD, Open Hand Solutions shared their entrepreneurial journey with the students.

Institution’s Innovation Council under MHRD’s Innovation Cell

University has established MHRD’s Institutional Innovation Cell (IIC) at its campus for promoting Innovation and startup culture at University. Under IIC various initiatives are being taken from time to time to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurship Week

To introduce the concept of innovation and creativity among the students of main campus, E-week was organized at University campus. During this week, two competitions viz “Business Plan Competition” and “ Rs200 Venture” were organized. Also interactive sessions with entrepreneurs and IPR Experts were organized.

Innovation Day

To mark Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s birth anniversary, Innovation Day on Oct 15, 2019 was celebrated at IKG-PTU main campus. Following activities were organized:-

  • Interactive session on importance of innovation and future prospects.
  • Poster making competition on Innovation.

 

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)

I K Gujral Punjab Technical University regularly organize workshops/ seminars on Intellectual   Property Rights (IPR) in collaboration with Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), Chandigarh at IKG PTU main campus, Kapurthala. These workshops aim to make the faculty & students aware about the IPR.

 

Short Term Training Programme in Collaboration with NITTTR – Chandigarh

University organized one week short term training programme (STTP) “Fostering Creativity and Innovation in Entrepreneurship” for entrepreneurship development coordinators/faculty. The main objectives of the training programme was to impart knowledge among participants on setting up and creative & innovative management of Entrepreneurship Development Cells in their institutions so that they are better equipped to further motivate and guide their students to opt for innovation based entrepreneurship.
